Funding in 2022

We have an ambitious target to grow our support for WHS to $400,000 in 2022

The initiatives we fund annually are carefully selected to provide the greatest benefit to WHS and our students. Our funding supports students to reach their potential and supports inclusiveness and wellness.



Awhi Support Fund 

The purpose of the Awhi Fund is to ensure equity of access to Wakatipu High School’s great all-round education.


Additional Teaching Resource

WHS Foundation funding has enabled WHS to employ additional teachers above Government staffing entitlement.


Junior Camps

Our Junior Camps have become iconic for Wakatipu youth as through camps such as these the students learn about themselves, others, personal growth, social development and citizenship.

Director of Arts

A new position in 2022, the Director of Arts allows WHS to grow both participation and excellence pathways - integral to providing a great all-round education.

Peer Support STARS Programme

The STARS programme is a year-long peer mentoring programme that supports, motivates and positively reinforces Year 9 students and develops leadership in senior students.


Head Students Leadership

As part of their generous support of the WHS Foundation, Colliers support our Head Boy and Girl to attend an Outward Bound Course. 


Wellbeing Programme and Coordinator

Wellbeing is increasingly an issue for NZ teenagers and schools. 


New Van

Sponsored by Jack McPherson, the new school van will be used for student transport to extracurrical activities, school activities and outdoor education.

Awhi BYOD Support Fund

The Awhi Bring your own device (BYOD) funds make a very real difference to financially disadvantaged families.

Extracurricular Activities

WHS's vision is to provide a 'great all-round education'. Integral to providing this are coaches, managers, teachers-in-charge and staff that make these activities possible.


Leadership External Speaker Series

The leadership external speaker series gives our senior student leaders an opportunity to engage and learn from a series of incredible guest speakers throughout the year.
