PAK’nSAVE INCREASES SUPPORT FOR THE WHS FOUNDATION

Updated: May 7

Long-standing supporters of the Wakatipu High School (WHS) Foundation, Michelle and Anthony King from PAK’nSAVE, have once again demonstrated their commitment to the school and its students. In response to the increasing needs of the WHS Foundation, they are doubling their annual contribution from $10,000 to $20,000 in 2025.

This year, the WHS Foundation has raised its fundraising target from $450,000 to $540,000 to reflect the growth in student numbers and the need to increase per-student funding. This ensures the school can maintain its current programmes and standards.

PAK’nSAVE has been a proud Business Partner of the WHS Foundation since opening in 2016, contributing an incredible $95,000 over the years. Their support extends beyond financial contributions, with Michelle having served as a WHS Foundation trustee for four years.

The additional funds from PAK’nSAVE will go directly toward the Literacy & Numeracy Programme at WHS. Literacy and numeracy are the foundations of academic success, and in 2025, the Foundation is investing $100,000 to strengthen these essential programmes. This investment will ensure students develop the skills they need to succeed in their future careers and education.

Michelle and Anthony hope their support will inspire others to contribute as well. “If you want to invest in a charity that impacts every corner of our community, supporting Queenstown’s only high school is an excellent place to start,” they say. “From students and families to future graduates, there are very few in our community who don’t benefit from having a thriving local high school.”
